Bank excess profits and abolished secrets: whose interests does the current economic system serve?
The guest of the fourth episode of Ctrl Z is Edmon Marukyan, the chairman of the Bright Armenia Party. For the first time, he presents the reasons for his resignation related to the points of the peace treaty that limit Armenia's sovereignty. Marukyan also addresses the informational chaos within the state system during the 44-day war, the lack of ammunition, and the events of the night of November 9.
Turning to the internal political situation, the speaker talks about the need to form a new pole for the 2026 elections and the "Against Everyone" initiative. He discusses his conversation with Mamikon Aslanyan after the Vanadzor local elections and refutes the accusations directed at him. According to him, there is actually no shortage of personnel in the country; the system is simply closed to professionals who are not team members.
On the economic level, Marukyan points out the problems of excess profits in the banking system and the abolition of banking secrecy. At the end of the interview, he reaffirms his decision to continue his political activities regardless of election results. He emphasizes that his goal is to protect the state interest, both as a lawyer and as a politician.
