The US Vice President's visit: what Armenia and Azerbaijan will receive

US Vice President J.D. Vance's visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan is not an ordinary diplomatic "trip." This is a visit about the regional power balance.

During the pre-election period, Azerbaijan worked systematically with the Trump-Vance team. Armenia did not. Today the consequences are obvious: Baku is getting rid of restrictions and receiving new opportunities, including access to the American weapons market.

Under these conditions, the priority issue for Armenia is one: security guarantees.

If Azerbaijan can buy weapons from the USA, then Armenia is obliged to demand: either equivalent defense support, or clear guarantees that those weapons will not be used against Armenia.
