I view these so-called "legal" proceedings as a clear case of political persecution. I unequivocally condemn this behavior and demand that the authorities and law enforcement bodies cease overstepping their constitutional mandates and refrain from acting outside the bounds of the law.
This assessment is substantiated by the open statements of ruling party MPs and the Prime Minister himself, who openly admit that Armenia’s law enforcement agencies are being weaponized for political purposes—to silence Samvel Karapetyan and punish him for his principled stance in defense of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The aim is clear: to weaken the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, one of the most significant Armenian institutions, and to intimidate and persecute its defenders through various unlawful means.
If Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reminds us that “This is not the village of Nizhny Tapir in Kaluga,” it would be wise for him to also remember—he is not Muammar Gaddafi either.
