Let me remind you that earlier Mamijanyan had published a different document bearing the same signatures, in which it was stated that the MPs from the "I Have Honor" alliance did not have a candidate for Prime Minister and were willing to provide their signatures unconditionally to any initiator.
However, when Hovik Aghazaryan and Hakob Aslanyan initiated a real impeachment process, the "I Have Honor" alliance retracted its own commitment.
As it turned out—just like Serzh Sargsyan’s announcement that he would not seek a third presidential term—there were "nuances" here as well.
They used to say,
"We will not initiate impeachment," yet they did. Then they said,
"without preconditions," only to reveal that there were reservations. They stated,
"We don’t have a candidate," but later it became clear that they did—and intended to nominate one.
The statements and actions of the parliamentary "opposition" have never aligned. Their dishonesty has gotten them nowhere—only wasting four years of state resources and national life. The more they "fight" against the authorities, the stronger and more arrogant the authorities become.
