A Process Benefiting the Enemy: The Strongest Armenian Lobbying Structure is Being Neutralized Under the Guise of "Clericalism" Accusations
The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church is the cornerstone of our identity, the source of our people's spiritual strength.
However, beyond its spiritual value and significance, it also plays a crucial secular role.
Today, our Church possesses the largest Armenian lobbying network, which has served and continues to serve the protection of our state and national interests.
The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church counteracts Azerbaijan everywhere – in any part of the world where our temples stand.
The Church spiritually nourishes our compatriots living outside Armenia and strengthens, and sometimes even creates, their connection with the homeland.
Consequently, Azerbaijan has set a goal to destroy this institution that carries out such a pivotal function, and the authorities of the Republic of Armenia are diligently serving this enemy agenda.
According to Azerbaijan's plan, Armenia must be transformed into Western Azerbaijan, and in Western Azerbaijan, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church cannot have the right to exist in its current institutional form.
Thus, I do not view the processes unfolding in recent days in the context of an alleged violation of the vow of celibacy (kousakronutyun) by any high-ranking clergyman. The objective is to dismantle the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church as a system, as the largest Armenian lobbying structure.
